Automated verification of authenticity of documents

For automated verification of documents, we have developed a special device – a document analyzer. This device makes it possible to verify the authenticity of identity documents, as well as to register and archive verified documents. The device contains databases of invalid passports, as well as means for notification of an invalid document detection. The document analyzer can be used for document verification in banks, at airports and train stations, and in various other places.

The document analyzer is capable of checking the authenticity of the entire set of documents that are used in the Russian Federation for identification of citizens.

‎№ Document type Document size, mm
1   Passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation 1997 125 x 88
2   Foreign passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation 2007 (paper) 125 x 88
3   Foreign passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation 2010 (biometric) 125 x 88
4   Military man ID 105 x 80
5   Officer's ID
6   Driving license, new type 86 x 54
7   Driving license, old type
8   Mariner's ID 118 x 84
9   Diplomatic passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation 125 x 88
10   Service foreign passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation 125 x 88
11   Residence permit in the Russian Federation 125 x 88
12   Passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation 2015 (with a chip) 86 x 54

Authenticity verification is performed by automatically detecting and identifying special security features of the documents, checking the relevance of the filled in data, as well as checking the document for compliance with databases of invalid, lost and stolen documents. For example, when analyzing a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, 11 security features are verified. The document is checked against a database of invalid passports published by the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation. Also, verification of data contained in the passport in relation to the document number is carried out.

The document analyzer was developed within the framework of the "Comprehensive program for ensuring public safety in transport", approved by the order of the Government of the Russian Federation dated July 30, 2010. The device was tested by the representatives of the Transport Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation at airports and sea terminals, and passed all the necessary tests.

The document analyzer has portable design, an autonomous power supply and an extended operating temperature range. This makes it possible to use it in any climatic and weather conditions, in stationary or portable applications.

The document analyzer is equipped with all modern hardware and software necessary for its integration into data networks of various levels. The device has wired and wireless network interfaces (WiFi, GPRS, Ethernet), so it can be used for creation of document verification systems of any complexity and hierarchical structure.
